Hello Dominika, can you introduce your newest family member?

Milly starred in my video clip "Milly", where I fell in love with Dalmatians. We all saw the movie "101 Dalmatians", and I think everyone back then wanted a Dalmatian. Today, this breed is quite rare, so I decided to get her. She's been with us since October and is now a little over 9 months old.

How did you come across BARF feeding?

I knew about this feeding method, some of my friends feed their dogs this way, but I was worried it might be too time-consuming for me—preparing meals with meat, bones, and organs separately. It was unimaginable for me since I don’t always have time to prepare healthy meals for myself. But when a friend told me about ready-made Barfer menus, we immediately started using them.

How do you manage to feed BARF with your busy schedule? Does anyone in your family help?

The great thing about the Barfer menus is that the only thing I need to remember is to defrost the food. I simply weigh out Milly's portion, let it thaw, and it's ready to eat. It's as easy as feeding kibble, but I know she's getting high-quality raw food. We now have a routine: my mom feeds her in the morning, and I do in the evening.

Have you noticed any changes or differences in Milly compared to other dogs?

Milly has been on Barfer menus and BARF since she was three months old. She’s well-built, has a beautiful shiny coat, and is in great condition. Besides the Barfer menus, she also gets fish and bones to chew on, which keeps her teeth clean.

If you had to pick one product that Milly loves the most, which one would it be?

For me, it's definitely the Barfer menu. It's a Czech-Slovak product made from high-quality ingredients, which is a big plus for me.

And which ones specifically?

All of them. Haha. Really, all of them—there isn’t a single menu she likes less. The only meat she didn’t like was game. I’m not a fan of the duck Barfer menu with tripe. My best friend loves meatballs and similar dishes, and he once joked that he wouldn’t be surprised if I fried up a Barfer menu for him instead of meatballs. I just might do that someday.

Where do you usually shop for things for Milly?

We get everything from www.barfer.sk. Literally everything. From Barfer, we mainly get food, but also a leash, collar, organic treats, antlers for chewing, and even shampoos. For me, it’s a great time-saver to find everything I need in one place.

You mentioned you have friends who are dog owners too. How do you perceive the divide between "kibble feeders" and "barfers"?

When we talk about it, some friends say they don’t have time or that it’s too complicated, especially when it comes to calculating the right portions and so on. But when I tell them about the Barfer menus, I haven’t heard any reaction other than "wow, that’s great." I move in circles with people who are similarly time-constrained, but I don’t think a dog should eat dry food its whole life just because of “laziness.” It’s amazing that we can feed dogs healthy, tasty, and easy meals these days.

Is there anything you would like to mention in conclusion?

Mainly that I can see how much BARF is benefiting Milly and that there’s no need to be afraid of the complexity. If my 6-year-old son can handle it, I think any dog owner who cares about their pet can manage it too.
